Networks have some News for you!

Frequent ASN updates

On the fast-moving internet with IPv4 being almost completely depleted and IPv6 being used more and more [ASNs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_system_(Internet) are subject to change in a very frequent base.

Since we learned that the Abuse Desk is usually the last instance that get's notified about those type of changes we will take care about that for you.

The Network View will from now on let you know if your ASN has changed. If so, please just click on the Update ASN button and see what can be done.

Preparation for Abuse Contact Verification

Every Network Owner should and in some cases even has to have an Abuse Contact published in the whois servers. Abusix runs the so-called Abuse Contact Database which translates an IP address into the [email protected] address published in whois.

We plan to start sending verification emails to each email address correlated with one of your networks. Depending on the state of your network setting, we might reach out to you beforehand.

There are 2 major reasons for this mechanism:

  1. We want to check if all relevant addresses are being forwarded to AbuseHQ.
In certain cases, we have already found just outdate whois information. And you can only fix, what you know. :)
  2. We have to verify your IP ranges do not provide you data, that is not meant for you.
This is at the moment true for data from the Abusix Trap Network. But we are already working on several data integrations to be able to provide you with even more high-quality data sources to complete the picture for you.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
Otherwise, stay tuned!
